Last week, 3D3 Solutions exhibited at TCT Live in Birmingham, UK. We want to thank those who came by our booth. We had a great time meeting other professionals involved in the concept, design, and manufacturing.
On the first day of the conference, our president, Thomas Tong, presented on the topic, 3D Scanning 101: The Fundamentals of the Structured Light 3D Scanning Process. Here are some takeaways from the presentation:
- 3D scanning is a multi-step process that involves preparation, scanning, and processing of 3D scan data.
- Good preparation prior to scanning will lessen the work later on in the process. On the other hand, poor preparation will lead to more work later on in the process (especially during post-processing)
- 3D scanning is a skill that requires trial and error and patience. The more practice you get, the better you will become at 3D scanning.
